Just some interesting news here. Last night Courtney Love went on a twitter rampage about Kurt Cobain’s appearence in the latest Guitar Hero game as a playable character. Saying things like:
For the record this Guitar Hero shit is breach of contract on a Bullys part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction.
and
WE are going to sue the shit out of ACtivision we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises.
But the folks over at Activision say that they cleared everything with the estate and have confirmed that she was the one who signed the contract agreeing to the deal.
Interesting times.
I really don’t get it at all. First of all, why on earth would any entertainer hate GH? They get to resell their content, resell it to people that are not in the usual fan base extending their brand and immortalize their music in the worlds most popular game franchise of, dare I say it, all time! So Courtney, whats your problem? Are we defiling Kurt’s memory by worshiping him even more. More than worship, its now idolatry with the playable character. So on behalf of everyone (including Kurt) except you Courtney, WTF!
