This morning Microsoft in Australia has followed suit with the rest of the world and announced that the Xbox is receiving a price cut of $100, making the new price point $449. A couple of points to note though, the price drop is for the Elite version of the console while the Arcade version remains at $299 and Pro version $399 (while stocks last).

Microsoft has announced the new price will be coming into effect September 22nd to align with the Halo: ODST release and if you purchase before October 20, they’ll even throw in a copy of the game.

So if you’re in the market for a new Xbox, September 22 is the time to buy.
