This news story won’t interest a lot of you but is interesting from my perspective being a flash developer.

MGS (Microsoft Game Studios) has signed a deal with Scaleform to use its GFx user interface middleware in all games developed by its studios.

Using the GFx technology means that user interface elements such as menus and HUD’s can be developed in Flash and used in the game engine.

Expect to see some more flashy menu’s and HUD’s coming from MGS games in the not to distant future. The first MGS game to use this tech will be Crackdown 2.
